I do not know what either spodie or rabbit, rabbit mean. Yet they seem to be a motif, or, dare I say it, a theme....

Flamingbanjo: spodie is liquor with fruit (I'm really making sangria, but Molly and I deemed it spodie awhile back when we realized it hadn't been stewing for quite long enough) and rabbit rabbit is a good luck thing. It's supposed to be the first thing you say on the first day of the month. For luck.
