I just ate the most freaking awesome cinnamon roll.
Then I read the worst adaptation of Huckleberry Finn ever.
I said, ever!
Never before in the history of narrators has there ever been a script this awful. And is it what I'm supposed to use to work with high school students? Of course. Now, if I pretend that it is not a script, but instead A Summary of the Entire Book that Includes Occasional Dialogue, then it's marginally better.
Marginally.
The best part is that the class is actually about getting two groups of ESL kids to use body language to clarify English, so I don't have to even pretend to think in theatrical terms (even though I'm still using them to explain things)...but I ate the cinnamon roll so I'd have a good taste in my mouth as a preventative.
So far, so good. I can always lick my fingers should its magic begin to fade.
