Yesterday, a high school secretary didn't recognize me, even though it was the beginning of my third week there. Apparently, getting restful sleep alters my face as much as removing an eye-patch. (Okay, that doesn't really make sense, but wouldn't that be a great thing: Hmmm, something's different about you...hair cut? No, no...braces off? No, no...what is it? Oh, your eye grew back!)
The other thing that enough sleep has done for me is cause the return of dreaming. I completely forgot about the portion of the night during which vivid pictures run through one's head and it is absolutely freaking me out. Last night was a little bit better, but to suddenly have images invading your brain is really scary if you're no longer used to it. And my dreams have always been bonkers: huge color spectrum, wee details, sound, and the usual task of trying to find somebody or something in order to save somebody or something.
And babies. They're just everywhere.
Posted by Ida at March 29, 2005 12:58 PMYeah. Babies. I'm constantly having to watch where I step these days.
Oh, you meant in your dreams.
Nevermind.
Posted by: KING COMTE I at March 29, 2005 04:47 PMlord, your dreams are so thinly veiled I don't even know what to say except for, "oh no you don't."
Posted by: ian at April 10, 2005 03:14 PMThey'd be a lot thicker if it weren't for the fact that three of my friends gave birth within the last three weeks.
Torture, I tell you. (Not meant as a directive.)
