checks and balances

You: Think I'm simultaneously too sensitive and too optimistic.

I: Think you're not as jaded as you'd like to think you are.

You: Don't listen.

I: Get really defensive.

You: Pin me down by holding the comforter tight around my upper body

I: Warned you, I swear I did, before I brought my legs up to my chest and hoisted you off me with my foot, accidentally hitting you in the left nut.

You: Did not think this was very funny.

I: Tried hard not to laugh, and failed.

As a person who has a left nut, I can find no humor in the kicking of nuts. All I can do is cringe.

But if I was a person who was in your similar situation and was left-nutless, I could probably find some humor in the accidental nut-kicking, even if I did feel awful about it.
