You know, I don't mean to sound old or anything-- and god forbid I turn into one of those annoying liberals with no sense of humor --but this actually kind of made me want to smack B upside his head.
'Cause it's not really satire. It's barely got any content. It's mostly just about how stupid the entire thing is. And I grant you that the rituals seem pretty dumb.
But also?
The U.S. military has invaded two countries and killed something on the order of 20,000 people since Bush came into office. And the PATRIOT act and the split with the U.N. and the economy and ya ya ya.
George Carlin has a whole skit about how rape can be funny. But he's actually going after topics with the satire. Anything can be funny.
But fuck.
When there's this many dead bodies, the humor better have a point.

If I want to actually read about the elections, I read the news.

When I want to imagine presidential candidates as ninjas fighting for the prize, I read snarky funny weblogs.
