One of our neighbors just had a baby. I can tell it's a new one because at the end of it's cries it still lets out that new-born baby scream that goes away once they're a little older. Being born must be terrifying. Poor niblet.
One of Roxy's customers asked her to find a 'sexy top'. Rox and one of her co-workers and I had a long conversation yesterday about what our definition of 'sexy' is, and how weird it is to try to dress 'sexy'.
sexy sexy sexy (the kind of word I could forget the meaning of if I said it enough times)
I don't think any of my clothes are sexy clothes, but I think I look damn good in most of what I wear. Does that make it sexy? Sexy for me, but probably not for anyone else.
We talked about what had been specifically called sexy on us by boyfriends past and present. Rox insisted that -despite all her fantastic wardrobe efforts- her current and ex's all found her sexy in jeans and a t-shirt (which she never wears). Co-worker agreed that what she wore all the time didn't get sexy comments, but things less revealing but different in style got called sexical.
Conclusion? Boys who see you all the time think about you differently when you change it up, and that different thinking makes for sexiness.
Agree? Disagree? Do you have specifically sexy clothes or find not particularly sexy clothes sexy? (not underthings, clothes for wearing.)
In other news, the new name for vagina is barbados and the new name for testicles is cumberbund.
The Derby is all about renaming the parts with uncomforable names.

My observation: there's a limit to how many times one can call any female not one's girlfriend sexy before it's considered creepy. "Pretty" is safer but there's a limit on that too. But when a lady changes up her look, as you say, a compliment is appropriate, sort of like noticing a new haircut or new shoes.
And of course, sometimes somebody is so damn sexy that spontaneous complimenting occurs before any considerations of appropriateness can occur. See also: "Da-amn!"

Skirts are sexy, skirts that show knee are even sexier. I love glasses, because reading is sexy. Jeans are also sexy because most of the time, jeans show the booty better. White collared shirts are also super sexy.

Most girls' self-assessed sexy wardrobe efforts end up being gorgeous pop-art, but are actually scratchy, pointy, stiff, or smearable. (This is a broad generalization, of course; no personal digs on Rox whatsoever.) In fact, a lot of women's "sexy" apparel, like heavy makeup or enormous earrings or those ultralowrise jeans that make even skinny women's ass fat squirt over the waistband, are actually a double whammy of girl-shape-distorting and too-expensive-to-risk-a-tumble. Boys like tumbles. Boys think tumbling girls are sexy girls.

I would tend to agree with this. Though again, even in jerseycloth, I prefer standard-shapped "boy" t-shirts to the "hey I can see the tiny hairs around your nipples" tight babydoll ones that seem to be universally regarded as "girl" t-shirts these days. So "seeable/touchable" isn't the full scope of the thing. Sometimes less is more.
