I spilled a glass of water in the vicinity of my phone, and now none of the buttons except for the on/off work. I'm giving it a couple of days to see if it will come back to life because I can't afford to buy a new one. If you have an old C_NG_L_R phone you'd be willing to give me or sell me cheap, please email.
In the meantime (perhaps for the next week or so), please direct all correspondence via the WWW. Or wait for me to magically show up outside of your home or business. That's the other option.
Posted by Sonya at February 9, 2006 12:59 PMTry a hairdryer. Open up your phone and let it dry... try not to turn it on until you've let it dry, give it a bit longer (1 or 2 days) than you'd expect it to need because there's bits inside that'll still be wet
Posted by: Zara at February 9, 2006 01:53 PMDitto what Zara said! The more you can open it up so the air can get in, the better. You're basically trying to get it to dry before it rusts.
Posted by: Anne at February 9, 2006 02:07 PMAw, crap, I was just about to call you because I just got your message at the email address I check stupidly infrequently. Will email.
Sorry about the phone, duck. I don't have anything to offer except commiseration.
Posted by: mol at February 9, 2006 04:09 PMWhat they said! I dumped water on my phone and it recovered fine after extensive drying while off.
Posted by: UnderwearNinja at February 10, 2006 09:55 AMI woke up Fri 10th complaining of a head ache...and my ankler was still hurting.
