The primary problem with my love of PBS is that I've seen a huge majority of the documentaries that get shown in classes. Kinsey report? Seen it. How the moon was formed? Seen it. Biography of Jack Johnson? Seen it. Did you know there are estimated to be less than 30,000 lions left in Africa? Nothing that eats what we eat is going to survive.
And I still haven't chosen a major, btw. When I tell people that I'll be a Junior in less than a quarter and they ask what my focus is and I say I totally dont freaking know...they're starting to make this funny face. That funny face is making me nervous! Stop with the face!
Posted by Sonya at May 3, 2006 09:13 AMI get that face now from people when I tell them what I got out of school with and then add that I have never used it other than to read the paper. They ask what I'd like to do and I draw a blank. I think they are as perplexed about my blank as I am about what it is that I'd like to do. I'm also perplexed about those who know what they'd like to do. You might not make money (I sure the hell am not), just study what makes you happy. I think you have figured this out for yourself already. I liked (and like) the stuff I studied. I can't say that the money will follow. Who the hell started that saying anyhow? I've gone round two with BCC and I think I'll try again next year. What else am I going to do? My two cents, Son-ny. Cheers.
Hey, I found out today that I work on a property only a block or so from the coffee shop. Parking up there is a bitch.

Posted by: K at May 4, 2006 11:38 AMI plan on going to school forever. I like it, it fills the time, and I have an easy excuse for my excessive book collection. Well not entirely easy, but at least it diverts the attention a little.
When I was in junior high a meddlesome teacher was asking each of us in turn what we wanted to be when we grew up. My reply of "eccentric" was not what she wanted, but I see no reason to change the dream.
I had my major picked out when I started my freshman year in college, and look how I turned out.
When put in that light, it makes waiting to pick your major seem like a brilliant idea.
