Every kid had a bad table habit once. Open mouthedness, grab across the tableness, jumping up and running arounderdom, what have you. I was just making a mix for my sisters when I remembered that the most oft-repeated table commandment of my childhood was "No singing at the table." It was a really hard rule to follow.
(of course I had to title the mix: Songs I'd Sing to You at the Table, 07)

Posted by: louella at April 7, 2007 10:09 PMi always thought "no singing at the table" is kind of an old man thing (like manhattans). my parents--who taught me to call them by their first names and all that kind of baby boomer shit--never told me not to sing at the table. then once i was at my grandparents' house, and for some reason, i have no idea why, i sang two line of something, suddenly, at the table. and i got yelled at! no singing at the table! worst thing you can do! i still don't understand.
