And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

This quote always makes me think of someone with, like, a railroad tie sticking out of their eye. You know, like a roof beam? That sort of thing. Then you picture someone with a roof beam sticking out of their eye going, "Hey, dude, you've got something in your eye. Here lemme..." then, like, smaking their brother in the head with the beam sticking out of their eye when they try to get close enough to deal with the mote.

And sort of on-and-on. It's kind of a Three Stooges routine, but grosser and with more screaming.

I always pictured a railroad tie as well. Maybe that's why I always liked this aphorism. Well, that and the fact that it's an amazingly eloquent slam on hypocrisy. J.C. is all "Check yourself."

Yeah, nothing like a graphic parable to make one step off.
