maybe I'll tell you sometime

2 afternoons straight at the outdoor saltwater pool on the edge of the sound has done me some good. When I was a kid I jumped on the trampoline at my auntie's house for too long and that night in bed I still felt like I was bouncing. I feel like that again now, but instead of bouncing, I'm gently floating on the couch. Swishing and awash while standing at the counter.

Have I mentioned to you my particularly superior work-family and how it is dissipating? (I am both disapproving and jealous.) Have I also mentioned how my life keeps changing no matter how much I'd like any part of it to remain the same?

difference a day

My cousins and their son slept over last night. It's been a big family year. A big great family year.

Maybe ally'all can't see the difference, but I feel like my plants are brand new and completely different every day. Especially when they're in bloom.

enemy combat

Doesn't Ken Burns look at himself on the commentary before he sends the film out? Who told him he could wear that shirt with that jacket!?

Barely related: We are certainly in a terrible worldwide situation, aren't we?

Just a little bit

Things I've recently learned:

1: If a man calls me mysterious, he's actually saying that he doesn't understand me at all.

2: I won't get what I want if I won't admit that I want it.

mean pinball

1: Seriously dude. Are you really going to make me come over there and explain why you: A)have to buy something and B)have to wear your shoes? You are? You totally are.

2: I think I broke my finger playing kickball last month. I thought it was just jammed, but now it's been 5ish weeks and pinkie-fingie is a funny shape and still swollen and painful. Do you think I should see about having it set, or just try and exercise it back into shape? Any of you people ever just leave one and have it turn out okay? (I can't really work if I have to wear a splint. Having it set would be really expensive in several ways.)

3:It's been cool and overcast, which probably sounds great for the rest of the nation but we've barely hot and sweatied at all over here. I haven't done enough swimming yet!
