when you're older and no one wants to know you

Biggest realization of late:

One's personality is one's own responsibility. If I'm lucky enough to have my downfalls set down in front of me, I must try to be smart enough to acknowledge and correct them.

You'll find me here

"Well," he said, "what have you been doing lately?"

"Oh, I've been very busy." I replied. "Very busy not consuming."

And it *has* been busy, in a molasses paced sort of way. Making 2 batches of turkey stock.-That's 6 hours of watching water boil, sister!- Addressing forty christmas cards I bought last January. Rolling twenty one dollars in pennies. Systematically finishing all the near-empty bottles of salad dressing and jam. (suze and corey. Do you know we have 4 bottles of soy sauce?) Counting things in the cupboards. Soaking beans. Making bread. Making lists. Watching the sun set. Watching it snow. Watching Jeopardy.

I must say that deciding not to buy anything I haven't specifically budgeted for during the big shopping season has made this the most enjoyable pre-holiday madness yet. Boo shopping. Yay contemplating peace and love and charity and watching water boil.
